| "Where it is not possible for the biological mother to breastfeed, the first alternative, if available, should be the use of human breast milk from other sources. Human milk banks should be made available in appropriate situations."

Partnerships to Make a Difference
International Breast Milk Project is an international humanitarian aid organization dedicated to finding solutions to help infants in urgent need get donor milk. As such, IBMP partners with several organizations in order to ensure that infants in need of donor milk have access to it. We value collaborative and inclusive engagements that help organizations around the world work together help infants in need. Each emergency situation requires a unique response and IBMP aims to bring together as many resources as possible to reach the most infants in need.
For example, after the devastating typhoon in the Philippines, IBMP worked with a hospital milk bank and UNICEF to distribute milk to infants in need. And through our December 2009 World AIDS Day shipment, International Breast Milk Project partnered with Prolacta Bioscience to collect and process donor milk, a partnership that enabled us donate over 50,000 bottles of donor milk to infants in need as a result of the HIV/AIDS crisis in South Africa.
This August we are partnering with the Mothers' Milk Bank of Ohio and iThemba Lethu Milk Bank in Durban South Africa. To learn more about this shipment, click here.
